2008 Cinco de Mayo Parade and Fiesta Details
SIOUX FALLS, S.D., March 5, 2008 – Wells Fargo today announced details for the 2008 Sioux Falls Cinco de Mayo Parade and Fiesta.
The Cinco de Mayo Parade and Fiesta, presented by Wells Fargo in conjunction with Caminando Juntos ministries of the Presentation Sisters, will be held Saturday, May 3, at Falls Park in Sioux Falls. The public is welcome to attend the event, which will include family entertainment, free concerts and food and beverages of Mexico and Latin America.
- 1 p.m.: Parade begins on Phillips Avenue and Sixth Street; extends to Falls Park.
- 2 p.m.: Fiesta begins at Falls Park. The Sioux Falls Mariachi Band will kick-off the fiesta and will also play throughout the day. The vendor tent will feature ethnic foods such as fajitas, beans and rice, tacos and Mexican hot chocolate. Soda, water, ice cream and alcoholic beverages will also be available.
- 3 p.m.: Sioux Falls Mayor Dave Munson will issue a proclamation.
- 3:15 p.m.: Acoustic-Americana artist Javier Trejo will perform.
- 4:30 p.m.: Reggae/Latin rock group Anchondo will hit the stage.
- 6 p.m.: Headliners The New Primitives, a Minneapolis-based Reggae band, will take center stage.

All proceeds raised from the event will help support Caminando Juntos ministries of the Presentation Sisters, a non-profit agency dedicated to serving the Hispanic community in Sioux Falls through advocacy, networking and immigration services.
